A Five Day Girls Getaway in Fiji
Are you and your friends in need of some R&R – or perhaps endless days of pampering? Friendly Fiji is the place to reconnect with your BFFs.
Day 1: Fly into Nadi and check in to the Sofitel Fiji Resort and Spa on Denarau Island. This luxurious beachfront resort has a spa that will make all your friends at home just a tad green with envy. Book in for the indigenous bobo massage and, afterwards, relax with your travel companions in the outdoor whirlpool (perhaps with a glass of Champagne).
Day 2: For a day trip with a difference, head to Fiji’s natural mud baths. Climb into your bikini (tip: don’t wear white ones) and slather each other with the therapeutic mud. It’s lots of fun – and you’ll be laughing about it for hours afterwards.
Day 3: If you’ve always wanted to cruise around the Pacific on a timber-decked schooner as crew members strum guitars and ukuleles and sing rollicking songs as the wind tugs at your hair, ask a travel agent about the best day cruises departing from Port Denarau. There’s a variety of itineraries that take in everything from village visits to swimming ashore to Modriki Island – the location for the Tom Hanks film, Castaway.
Day 4: Now that you’ve had a taste of the Mamanuca Islands, perhaps you’re tempted to relocate en masse to a nearby tropical island? Six Senses Fiji opened in April 2018 on the easy-to-reach Malolo Island. Check in to one of the villas or, if you prefer to stick together, book one of the residences that range from two to five bedrooms.
Day 5: Don’t. Go. Anywhere. The Six Senses Spa comes with a nail bar, yoga pavilion and the Alchemy Bar where guests can blend their own lotions and potions. Go ahead and treat yourselves – you deserve it.
Ask an agent how you can create your own girls’ getaway.
